I thought it would be nice to hear what everyone is doing to stay cool during these hot summer days.
There is always of course the sprinkler!
What we like to do as well is "paint" the fence and sidewalk. Each child gets a large paintbrush and a bucket of water. They can then "paint" the fence or sidewalk any way they like. And soon after they are done the sun dries it up and they can paint all over again.
They also love watering my flower beds and therefore each other as well.
Anything else you like to do?

Painting the fence thats a good idea! We've made home made ice lollies using diluted apple juice and ribena. I am also in a lake community so the lake has kept us cool!

We do daytime camping I make a big fort in the back yard (I don't have a tent) and we pull out sleeping bags and do a bug hunt, eat camping type food and pretend we're in the forest.

I love the daytime camping idea! Last summer we went on a bug hunt with my camera, and the children each got to take a picture of what they found. I later printed them off and then we made picture frames for them.

This week I've put the fabric type of fun tunnels and inside tents outside in the back yard. I also have a little play structure and the kids got creative and made a type of assault course putting the tents etc in different spots!
